I met Chloe one last time before I move to the US! We had dinner at an awesome restaurant/comic shop in Brussels called “Cook&Book!”
The owner is a big fan of Chloe’s, and said we could come back for a signing event when we have books to sell. That could be as soon as next summer (when I come back to visit!)
I’ll miss you Chloe, and Brussels.

There’s this popular belief that creators (artists, writers, performers, etc) are weirder, more passionate, and more emotionally driven.
I don’t think we’re necessarily “weirder” than anyone else, but we give that impression because we inject so much of ourselves into our work. Art is product of our greatest loves, desires, and fears.
Everyone has those, they just don’t all post them publicly or for a living. I think anyone would seem pretty weird and emotional if you were exposed to so much personal information.

These are my favorite artists from DeviantArt (I discovered most of them here) and Tumblr. These sites have given me the chance to learn a lot from the art of all these amazing people and I’m grateful for that. Katie & Shaggy Shanahan (~ktshy & [link]) - Katie is my role model since the very first moment I read one of her comics. And, actually… Shaggy doesn’t draw but I had to add him here! I couldn’t draw Katie without him, I just love the two of them. They’re genious. And one of my favorite comics from all time are their lovely “Shrub Monkeys” Mckenna Harris (*pocket-picasso & [link]) - Have you seen her gallery? Her characters are the cutest thing in the world. And I cry like a baby every time she uploads one of her “Musical Madness” (god bless her patience and effort) Also, she’s so lively and nice! Chloé C (*batlesbo & [link]) - Her style is beautiful, smooth and feminine. And she’s the happiest hippie on Earth! What’s not to love? Humon (*humon) This girl has a wild imagination. I just love her stories and characters. I’ve been addicted to her comics for years.Ross Campbell (`mooncalfe & [link]) He’s one of the few artist that I already knew when I joined DA. I think he has the most peculiar style of all.
