Oh yes, it’s happening.

My good friend Chloe just started her Kickstarter for her wonderful comic Go Get a Roomie. Now, if you like humor, sexy ladies and adorable drawings, you really can’t miss this.

Three thousand bucks more to go and the book is funded. It hasn’t even been 24 hours. I just…

I’m so happy for you dude, you have no idea! *rejoices*

It happened. Go Get a Roomie- The book, was actually funded in 24 hours exactly.

Good gracious me and all of the world’s wonders.

I couldn’t decide what to draw, so I drew everything.
These are all the comics I currently read (plus a couple special mentions). Since I can’t fit them all in the tags, and since half these characters are probably unrecognizable the way I drew them, here’s a convenient list of all the comics involved.
Amazing Super Powers, Awkward Zombie, Bittersweet Candy Bowl, Brawl in the Family, Buttersafe, Chimneyspeak, Cucumber Quest, Darths and Droids, Dr McNinja, Dresden Codak, Dumbing of Age, Effort Comics, Frog Raccoon Strawberry, Gaia, Gastrophobia, Girly, Go Get a Roomie, Gunnerkrigg Court, Happle Tea, Hark a Vagrant, Katamari, Late Blooming, Life Aint No Pony Farm, Menage a 3, Miamaska, minus, Misfile, Nerf Now, Nuzlocke Comics, Octopus Pie, Para-Ten, Sandra and Woo, Sister Claire, Skadi, Space Cat, Templar Arizona, The Intrepid Girlbot, The Meek, VG Cats, Witch Knots, xkcd, You Suck.

So many webcomics!!! I’m still astounded at how many of them I’ve never heard of. Thanks for including Roomie and heyyy LT as well! I see her :D

Neil Gaiman-senpai noticed my comic! Now we’re talking bigtime!
Thank you for all your pledges, tweets, reblogs, and posts! I am so moved by the generous and enthusiastic response we’ve seen. We’re very close to reaching our goal! Once we hit 8K, we’ll be releasing some awesome stretch rewards!
There are still some cool rewards yet to be claimed, including custom sketches and full-color headshots by myself, and a full-color illustration by Chloe C. of “Go Get A Roomie!”

Webcomics being hacked

There seems to be a few hackings going on here and there, first Sister Claire, then BlasterNation, then Girls With Slingshots, and now Roomie with a Trojan virus?

It’s all fixed, but still. Bored hackers are bored, they have nothing else to do but bother little artsies now~

So if you have a webcomic somewhere, make sure it stays safe!

BY DEMAND - TOP “GIRLY” 10 COMICS THAT DON’T SUCK FOR PRE-TEEN GIRLS
(According to me)
These are a list of comics I consider to have for primary market young girls. I excluded anything unisex (like Amulet) or that has dudes as a main market but can be read, and are often adored, by girls (aka shonen manga).
Also, i’m French. Expect french in here.
#1 - LOU! - French series about a creative girl and her single mom. The mom is a fantasy writer and obsessed by video games. Lou, the daughter, dreams of being a fashion designer or a poet. The cast is original and multicultural, representing different styles of today’s youth. And every book focuses on an issue that matches Lou’s age, since she gains a year with every book (like Harry Potter). I love book 3, who focuses strongly on depression. There’s a TV show, but the books are superior by far, since the show is stuck in status quo land.
#2 - Re-gifters - Fantastic story about Dixie, a second-generation Korean immigration and a martial arts student who has unfortunately lost her focus (aka ki) due to a big, big doom crush. She needs to digest the crush and find a way to win the big competition. This is short, sweet, all about the troubles of being a confused teen and an immigrant. Brilliant.
#3 - The Yoko Tsuno series - Pretty much one of the only unsexualized female comic hero I had as a kid, Yoko is a science-fiction-slash-police-drama series. This woman went to space. She played with ghosts. And robots. AND GHOST ROBOTS.
#4 - Friends with boys by Faith Erin Hicks - Man, does this comic even need an introduction? I’m in love with it.
#5 - Anya’s Ghost - Anya is a russian immigrant who feels fat, silly, and generally hates everyone. Everything changes when she falls down a well and meets a ghost down there. They become best friends… up until the ghost starts living vicariously thru her with way too much passion.
#6 - Gunnerkrigg court - Technically, a webcomic, but since the books exist, it’s fully possible for me to push it unto schools. I get the feeling this story is unisex most of the time, but a couple of details push it in the girl territory, for me. Amazing webcomics about two friends in a strange school…
#7 - Card Captor Sakura - Short magical girl series by Clamp… it’s pretty much all about awesome spells and acceptance. Me likey.
#8 - Elinor Jones - In victorian times, a girl wants to become a seamstress for the renown house of Tiffany. But the work is hard, and the girl suffers from body image issues and eating disorders. Lots of pretty dresses, cool characters and important issues explored very nicely.
#9 - Princesse Sara - Based on the book “Little Princess”, it’s a steampunk retelling of the classic Cinderella tale.
#10 - Smile - Raina gets braces. We all remember how much that sucks.
* End of the list, please reblog and ADD. Once I removed the “unisex” or “guy but can be read by girls” stuff, it was actually pretty difficult to compile this list. Go figure.

Lou is truly the best teen comic I have ever read. It’s fun, hilarious, true, and touching.

*DIES* (aka: vote here)

Oh snap… it’s a tough call, but I’m gonna support my comic fam and vote for Roomie.

Oh my god… Talk about tough choices!

I flipped a coin. Because I honestly did not want to choose for myself. Tail is Oglaf, Roomie is head.

People often ask me what it takes to start a webcomic.

rosalarian:

The real question is, do you want to start a webcomic because you love making comics, or are you in it for the babes and piles of money?

You have to be in it for the babes and piles of money. That is the only reason to do it. “Liking comics” is not a good reason to start a webcomic.

Couldn’t have said it better!

Welcome to our business blog. All heavy operations, merchandise, convention attendance, site updates and other miscellaneous details will be handled here for all of our wonderful comics.
As of right now the network’s mission statement is to handle a limited number of comics and optimize them to the fullest. We are not a keenspot/Rampage network clone. We are a group of artists and business folk grouping together to do this as a living.
More announcements will come later on as to that though I looked forward to a splendid year to come with many, many, many updates to be posted.
-Antares.

Glad to be a part of this! (And really glad to be in a group with the other awesome comics on board)

It’s an honor to be able to work with you all. I look forward to whatever the future holds for us!!

I see some artists sometimes expressing disdain for those who do, or worrying that it’s bad to do so. It’s not. Being successful is partly doing good work, but also being able to promote yourself and make yourself eligible for certain opportunities. You can’t just wait for opportunities and…

This is one of the things I love about you: your fair view on promotion. I’m one of those artists who still have a hard time promoting myself, but your words on the matter is always good to hear.

Thanks :)

Finally I am setup rather decently for this task. I still need a proper computer station and a storage array but for the most part my office is finally built.

With relationship to Sister Claire, as we are about to open up a print shore that will hopefully encompass several other comics in time I will be basing operations out of here, my entire living room will be the headquarters of this wonderful operation, unless you folks are buying 150prints a day this is more then ample for operations as I’m a block away from a post office and have several rooms for storage.

If there are any requests for art of something already drawn, i.e old works of Yamino, or a certain print of a page then please forward them to Tautologically@gmail.com

In the coming weeks we also hope to implement a forum, which is currently on hold until I get moderation in place (i.e me buying monitors so I can set one to auto refresh it).

On the note of recent changes to the site we have sped up page loading but making the site run more efficiently, ad’s have also increased, while there may be more then before we will never run a video/sound/full popout ad, worst your gonna get is gifs, and I try to keep those down so they just clip the page to load.

Understanding that a vast majority of the new art prints (implying we had old ones) will be either original stand alone art or fanart. I.e ponies, Adventure Time.

As most of you do not know who I am my name is Joseph, I am the publicist for miss Yamino, as well as our sister site’s artist Chloe of http://gogetaroomie.chloe-art.com/ (NSFW) while I am not making untold gobs of money through this I do aim to at least make something, both for myself and my friends.
