This IS only the first season of Korra

Anonymous
Yes. And it was only supposed to be just one season. This was a full story, with a middle and an end. That was it.
If however, for the 2nd season Bryan and Michael decide to go back to a few things the fans felt that they left out, I’M ALL FOR IT!
Book 2: What Really Happened In-Between Every Episodes
(cue Korra and Asami talking about Benders and Non-Benders and the social class difference they may have. Cue Korra doing something about it instead of just kicking the Big Bad’s Butt. Cue Korra’s inner spiritual discovery when she unleashed the sudden airbending and Avatar State. Cue bonding friendship time in Team Avatar. Etc, etc.)

Things I’ve Learned from The Legend of Korra
——
I swear, there should be a blog dedicated to this. The end of the season just made me feel like there were a lot of missed opportunities and a bit of moral dissonance. I mean, I enjoyed the ride, but the destination kind of sucks…

This may seem over-the-top, but truthfully? Not that much. The more I think about it (or rather, the more I read fans’ awesome take on LoK and what we should’ve seen instead) the more I see how much potential the series had, and how much the writers screwed it big time.

Everything will be all right! We just need to get out of here!
I don’t know if I reblogged this before, but if I did, I’m doing it again. Cause this part was so painful to watch. Just how Mako was so afraid, and you could tell. He was sputtering out words to reassure Korra AS WELL AS HIMSELF that they’d be okay. But, uh THE AVATAR JUST GOT HER BENDING TAKEN AWAY. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY ASSURE THEM OF THEIR SAFETY? And yet, he tried his best anyway. A gut-wrenching (OMG NO PUN INTENDED OKAY?!?!?!) scene to watch.
I think This might be the one part where the Makorra writing didn’t feel forced, to me. Well, that and episode 2. In this scene, it felt awesome and organic, and all about two people wanting to protect each other.
I agree, this was also one scene I really liked, for the like… 3 seconds that it lasted.
Yes! The fact that Mako looked back and had that scared look on his face actually felt REAL. I can’t believe everyone else caught that detail and thought the same thing :D *hugs*

I share most if not all of your likes/dislikes of the season finale of Korra. Having you write the next season's script would be awesome, maybe too awesome for the fans to handle, which is why it probably won't happen. Anyways, I found a lack of General Iroh in your likes and dislikes, should I take that as a neutral view? and what about Boomi's ~5 seconds of screen time, any thoughts?
Yes, I’m pretty much neutral about General Iroh. We didn’t see much of him, just that he is good at his job.
And I can’t wait to see more of Boomi!! How convenient that Aang and Katara named him Boomi and he acts just like that old nutty earthbender xD

“ If they can fit in a moment with Mako not listening to Bolin urinate, I’m sure we could fit in some moments in which Korra is being supportive of Asami and vice versa.”
