I never really noticed it before, but Korra’s airbending just looks so.. awkward compared to Aang’s. She looked a lot more like she was punching through someone’s skull with firebending rather than doing the motions of airbending. Aang’s always about spiral movements, aerodynamics, and open palmed air gusts. Korra’s fist was closed, and she hit it head on for each punch —very unairbender like.

Know it’s just a teeny detail but I dunno, just something that caught my mind. To be an earthbender, Aang seriously had to get into the mindset, and it took a long, difficult practice to achieve it. With Korra, her airbending tactics worked when she was in the mindset originally—attempting to dodge her opponents’ attacks with the usage of spiral movements. Exactly like an airbender. In the finale however, it wasn’t the mindset of an airbender at all; she was on the offensive, attacking as a firebender would. Mm.
